To add an affiliate product, go to seller/products on the store manager page. Select external/affiliate from the product type dropdown.
As soon as you choose an external/affiliate product, the product data metabox will change. It then adds two new fields in the General Section – URL and Button Text fields. The Product URL field is the destination where users can purchase this product. Then the Button text lets you change the normal Add to cart button text to your preferred text.
Add the product title, images, category, price, sale price, URL, and button text.
Linked – Under this, you have two options – up-sells and cross-sells. Products can be related to each other. Up-sells are products that you recommend instead of the currently viewed product. They are typically products that are more profitable or better quality or more expensive. Cross-sells are products that you promote in the cart, based on the current product. They are typically complementary items. Search for the items on the box and add the relevant products.
When you’re done, submit the product for review. Here’s how your product page will be displayed. Once it is approved by the admin, shoppers on your website can buy the product if they’re interested.
